Can Cardio Exercise Reduce Fat?
Before addressing this question, we need to understand a much more important question: our present lifestyle. I am not referring to professional athletes but to people who have been working desk jobs for the past few years and engaging in little or no light exercise.
If you have this type of lifestyle, you need to think carefully before subjecting yourself to heavy cardio exercise. As I promised before, fat reduction can be enjoyable and achievable if you don’t push yourself too hard. So if you suddenly start cardio, your ligaments and muscles are not prepared for it. You will experience pain all over your body, your motivation to reduce body fat will decrease, and you will increase the risk of knee and muscle injuries. Introducing cardio suddenly will also elevate your stress hormone levels, leading you to abandon this great journey.
Despite these issues, you may notice some temporary impacts on your body. An interesting fact is that while part of this is due to fat reduction, a significant portion is due to the loss of lean muscle. Eventually, you will become weaker than before.
How should you introduce cardio? Well, in my journey, I avoided cardio part. I simply maintained light exercise and controlled my food intake, and that did the trick. Just remember, a healthy life is not a destination; it’s a journey until you die.
